Point + Line is honored to present an interview with Sharon Louden, an intrepid artist, educator, and advocate for artists. To date, Sharon has published two "must read" books for artists and art enthusiasts alike: "Living and Sustaining a Creative Life: Essays by 40 Working Artists" and "The Artist as Culture Producer." In each book, Sharon has carefully edited essays by 40 diverse, contemporary artists. "Living and Sustaining a Creative Life" aims to demystify the romantic notion of "the artist life" by sharing the highs, lows, and myriad of choices made by artists to follow their creative path. "The Artist as Culture Producer" explores the artist as an integral contributor to community. Collectively the books speak to transparency, generosity, and the value of building community around art; fundamental ideas to Point + Line.

As a viewer, how does a work of art make you feel? Are you inspired, frustrated, entertained or curious? Do you wonder what the point is? What the work means to other viewers?

As an artist, have you ever considered the story line your work follows in the universe? How does the story change? Morph? Grow over time?

"Constellations", the newest project of Point + Line, is a virtual and physical art experience that allows you, encourages you, and enables you to wonder, ask questions, and share your thoughts. We’ve just received a grant to get started!
